For the Sugar Syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 teaspoon rose water or a few saffron strands (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Sugar Syrup:
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water to make the sugar syrup.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it comes to a boil.
- Simmer for 5-7 minutes until it slightly thickens.
- Add cardamom powder and rose water/saffron (if using). Remove from heat and set aside.
2. Make the Gulab Jamun Dough:
