- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- Pinch of salt

Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Prepare the Meat Mixture:
- In a bowl, tear the bread into small pieces and soak it in 1 cup of milk. Mash the soaked bread with a fork to form a smooth paste.
- In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil and sauté the onions until they are soft and translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and ground meat to the pan. Cook until the meat is browned.
- Add the curry powder, turmeric, coriander, cumin, and cinnamon to the meat. Stir well to combine.
- Mix in the bread paste, raisins or sultanas, and chutney. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Transfer to Baking Dish:
- Transfer the meat mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Prepare the Topping:
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, and then mix in the milk and a pinch of salt.
- Pour the egg mixture over the meat in the baking dish.
- Bake:
- Place bay leaves on top of the egg mixture and sprinkle with blanched almonds.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-40 minutes or until the topping is set and golden brown.
- Serve:
- Allow the Bobotie to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve it with rice, chutney, and maybe a side of vegetables.
