Vanilla Cake

Ingredients:

  • 5 eggs
  • 16g baking powder
  • 200g powdered sugar (approximately 1 1/2 cups)
  • 200g butter (approximately 1 3/4 cups)
  • 50g potato starch
  • 300g flour (approximately 2 cups)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 150g yogurt (approximately 1 cup)
  • Vanilla (to taste)

Method:

  1. Preparation:
    • Preheat your oven to 180°C (360°F).
    • Grease and line a 22cm cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mixing:
    • In a mixer, combine the eggs, baking powder, powdered sugar, butter, potato starch, flour, salt, yogurt, and vanilla.
  1. Blend all the ingredients together in the mixer for approximately 3 minutes or until a smooth batter is formed.
  2. Baking:
    • Pour the prepared batter into the lined cake pan.
    • Place the cake pan in the preheated oven.
    • Bake at 180°C (360°F) for approximately 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  3. Cooling:
    • Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes.
    • Then transfer the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely before slicing or decorating as desired.
