Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot chili-garlic sauce (such as sriracha)
- 2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 16 chicken wings (wing tips removed)
- Vegetable oil
- Kosher salt
- Fresh ground black pepper
Preparation:
1. Make the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, hot chili-garlic sauce, dark sesame oil, and grated fresh ginger.
2. Prepare the Chicken Wings:
- Trim excess skin from the edges of the chicken wings.
- Lightly brush or spray the wings with vegetable oil.
- Season the wings with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Grill the Chicken Wings:
- Preheat your grill to Direct Medium heat.
- Grill the chicken wings until the skin begins to crisp, about 10 minutes, turning once or twice during cooking.
4. Glazing the Wings:
- Brush the wings with the prepared glaze and continue to grill until the meat is no longer pink at the bone, approximately 8 to 10 minutes.
- Turn and brush the wings with the glaze 2 or 3 times during the final cooking process.
5. Serve:
- Once cooked, transfer the wings to a serving platter.
- Serve the grilled sweet chili chicken wings warm.
Recipe Notes:
- Alternatively, you can bake the wings at 375°F for 45 minutes, then slather on the sauce, and bake again at 400°F for 20 minutes until the skin is brown and the sauce thickens.
