Delectable Roasted Pulled Pork

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Prepare the Pork:
    • Pat the pork shoulder or pork butt dry with paper towels. Season the meat generously with salt and black pepper.
  1. Make the Spice Rub:
    • In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, ground cumin, brown sugar, dried oregano, chili powder, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Rub the Pork:
    • Rub the spice mixture all over the pork, ensuring it’s well coated. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate the meat.
  1. Sear the Pork:
    • Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the pork on all sides until browned.
  2. Add Aromatics:
    • Remove the pork from the pot temporarily. In the same pot, add sliced onions and minced garlic. Sauté for a few minutes until softened.
  3. Return Pork and Add Liquid:
    • Place the seared pork back into the pot. Add chicken or vegetable broth to the pot.
  4. Roast:
    • Cover the pot with a lid or foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Roast for about 4-5 hours or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
  1. Shred the Pork:
    • Once done, shred the pork using two forks. If there’s a bone, remove it and discard.
  2. Serve:
    • Serve the roasted pulled pork on sandwiches, tacos, or as a main course with your favorite sides.

This delectable roasted pulled pork is flavorful and succulent, making it a perfect dish for gatherings or a comforting family dinner. Adjust the spice levels to suit your taste preferences. Enjoy!
