MOUNDS CAKE RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 1 cake mix (white or yellow cake mix)
  • ½ cup cocoa
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chocolate syrup
  • 8 oz. tub Cool Whip
  • 2 cups Coconut, shredded

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Mix the cake according to the package instructions. Add cocoa and sugar, then blend well.
  3. Pour the cake mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 2 cups of chocolate chips over the top of the cake.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven. Poke holes in the cake with a meat fork.
  5. Warm the chocolate syrup and pour it over the hot cake. Cover and let the cake cool overnight.
  6. Mix whipped cream and shredded coconut together for frosting.
  7. Spread the coconut and whipped cream mixture over the cake. Chill the cake.
  8. The Mounds Cake is now ready to be served. Enjoy!
