Lemon Garlic Butter Lobster Tails

Ingredients

  • 2 large Lobster Tails (about 6-8 oz each)
  • 4 tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp fresh Lemon Zest (for garnish and sauce)
  • 1 tbsp fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish and sauce)
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste
  • (Optional: a pinch of Red Pepper Flakes for heat)

Instructions

  1. Prep Lobster: Butterfly the lobster tails by cutting down the center of the hard shell with sharp kitchen shears, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull the meat out through the opening, resting it on top of the shell. Score the top of the meat lightly (optional).
  2. Make Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt 3 tbsp of the butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bake or Broil: Preheat oven to $400^{\circ}$F ($200^{\circ}$C). Brush the exposed lobster meat generously with the prepared lemon garlic butter sauce.
  4. Cook: Place the tails on a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or broil for 8-10 minutes, until the meat is opaque and cooked through ($140^{\circ}$F/$60^{\circ}$C internal temperature). Cooking time depends on tail size.
  5. Serve: Drizzle the remaining butter sauce over the cooked lobster tails. Garnish immediately with the fresh chopped parsley and lemon zest before serving.
